Knowledge-industry-market coordinating offices are among the legal capacities created in the innovation ecosystem of the country, playing an effective role in creating communication between production (industry) and distribution (market) sectors and science and knowledge production centers. The quantitative and qualitative growth of these institutions in the coming months could lead to a leap in production in important and strategic areas.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the offices, which were initially established using state capacity, have reformed their focus on the private sector. In addition, the Vice-Presidency has passed the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution to create legal capacity for these centers.

Abdolreza Majdodin, the general manager of the knowledge-industry-market coordinating offices, expressed: in the new round of the offices’ activities, some knowledge-industry-market coordinating offices have been established that are considered strategic fields in the country. These economic sectors have been selected in this aspect for the opening of the center, which have the potential to create added value.

He continued: at present, the centers are built in areas such as: wheat, flour and bread, jewelry and precious stones, roses and aromatic plants, urban rail transportation, equipment and laboratory materials of Iran, paints and resins, bees, carpets and aquatic animals.

Identification of new areas has been among the measures taken by the office in 2019. Accordingly, by identifying 20 suitable areas, finally the establishment of 5 centers in the fields of cellulose and cellulose derivatives, waste management and recycling, sugar and ancillary industries, tourism, as well as security of information exchange space was approved.

Developing the activities of the offices can persuade various economic sectors to move toward cooperation with other fields such as different industries and universities.
