Knowledge-based companies and startups will bring the sweet taste of aerial technologies into the community.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, pointed out the necessity of interaction between the private sector and aerial and space industry during the opening ceremony of the 9th aerial industry exhibition of Iran, recognized with the title of “Iran Air Show” by foreigners and held in Kish Island and in the presence of the ministry of defense.

The vice president for science and technology affairs reminded the crucial necessity of entering aerial technologies to the center of the community, expressing: we have sacrificed a lot to reach the current position and earn valuable achievements. In order to understand the position of these technologies and realize their actual value, we must bring the private sector to the field.

Boom with Investment Seasonings

According to Sattari, while government investment in the fields of technology, including aerial and space is necessary and inevitable, there is a visible link between the achievements of the industry and its prosperity with the presence of private sector investment.

The president of the national space and advanced transportation administration regarded the presence of knowledge-based companies and startups of the private sector the manifestation of the hidden capacities of our country in the aerial field.

Bringing the Aerial and Space Knowledge-based with Modern Equipment

Sattari mentioned that aerial and space knowledge-based achievements include the presence of domestic equipment and technologies in line with the modern standards and findings. In this regard, he affirmed: today, we have achievements and abilities that we are proud of but their continuation requires the presence of knowledge-based businesses and the private sector and formation of the proper ecosystem compatible with entrepreneurship.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter explained about creation of value by thousands of startups and knowledge-based businesses in economy of the country in the past few years, recognizing it an apparent manifestation of necessity of facilitating the business environment. In this respect, he added: technology penetration in the community is at the heart of the startups and we need to expand the culture of aerial and space technology through the business community because our capabilities in these areas are not limited to missiles and defenses. In fact, we can offer them good services and products in the form of knowledge-based businesses and start-ups.

Sattari mentioned the efforts made by the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in the past years for creation of the market for knowledge-based and startup companies, especially in the aerial and space field.

Iran among the Five Top UAV-manufacturing Countries

Sattari also pointed out the importance of development of aerial industry with the help of the knowledge-based companies in the private sector, asserting: we will have expanded development and growth by using the capabilities of knowledge-based companies and startups. In addition, the necessary foundation will be laid for the growth and development of aerial transportation industry in the country by establishing the aerospace universities. Moreover, establishment of the aerial universities will provide an opportunity for growth and development of aerial transportation in the country. Therefore, it seems that Iran is the first country of the region that is able to produce UAVs, making us the fifth top country of the world in this regard.

A Sign of Pride and Self-belief

In this ceremony, Brigadier general Amir Hatami, the minister of defense, regarded the exhibition a festival of pride for the country, continuing: In this festival and exhibition, we must enjoy our achievements and thank God for providing us with the blessing of thinking and knowledge in order to maintain our pride.

Unveiling New Achievements

Along with the 9th international aerial exhibition held in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, Brigadier general Amir Hatami, the minister of defense, and Morteza Bank, advisor to the president of Iran in free zones, some of the technologies in the lap joint field in defense industry, as well as 212 emergency helicopter and Fokker 100 engine combustion chamber were unveiled.

The 9th international aerial exhibition will be held November 26th-29th, 2018 in Kish Island by the efforts of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.
