According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Islamic Republic of Iran is not among the first 30 countries with the highest rate of immigrants. Therefore, inaccurate statistics and claims of some people inside the country about the immigration condition of Iran.

According to the information center of National Elites Foundation, the critical condition of Iran in areas of immigration of elites, brain drain, reduced IQ and similar topics, has been assessed in analytical gatherings, which has led to the formation of serious and challenging discussion in political and specialized meetings. Meanwhile, many of the presented analytics in the media are not valid and are based on personal impressions and limited experiences, which might not be real or have low level of accuracy. 

Therefore, valid reports on immigration and international displacement of graduated individuals presented by international institutes have indicated that according to immigration data and trends in 2013, about 231.5 million of people in the world are living outside their homeland. However, Iran is not among the countries with the highest rate of immigration.

In the report by organization for economic cooperation and development published in 2015, it is claimed that Iran is among the top 20 countries. In the global bank report published in 2016, Iran is not among the first 30 countries with the highest rate of immigration.

In addition, according to the published valid statistics, the immigration rate of Iran was 1.5% up to 2015, which lower than the 3.2% mean of the whole world and the majority of countries with similar situations.
