According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated on the opening ceremony of industrial and pharmaceutical projects, which was also attended by Eshaq Jahangiri, the first vice president: fortunately, proper infrastructures have been established in the medication industry of Iran for development of pharmaceutical industry, and we have witnessed the formation of a dynamic and capable industry in the area of biotechnology.

He continued: this new industry can lead to the design and production of machineries, and improvement and development of competitive products to be presented to the market.

Sattari regarded the most important factor for realization of this industry to be the use of capacity of creative and educated human resource, asserting: despite the exploitation of more than 4.7 million students and training of active human resource in the engineering area in line with advanced countries of the world, we have seen inadequate advancement in this area. This type of industry has not been developed to more than a few factories due to resource-based economy of Iran, and these factories are incompetent in use of the facilities of the country to improve, create and develop equipment by scientific and technological advancements.

He continued: today, the capacity for formation of a dynamic industry has been produced by relying on creative and educated human resource.

Significant Development of Biotechnology Knowledge-based Companies

President of the national elites foundation regarded the support of activists of biotechnology industry as an important factor for the development of this area based on innovation and entrepreneurship and expressed his content with the process of revenue earning and creating added value by active companies of this field, which has had significant growth and shows the ability of the country in creation of companies based on knowledge and creativity of human resource instead of using physical assets.

Sattari introduced the knowledge-based company of CinnaGen as one of the pioneering companies in the region, adding: a private knowledge-based company has been able to turn into a prominent enterprise in biotechnology area and a model to other companies and educated youth, paving the way for more development of biotechnology in the country.

Flourishing of the Capacity of Human Resource by Structural Development of the Education Section

The vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out the existence of more than 4 million and 700 thousand students inside the country, regarding it as a significant capacity for growth of GDP of the country, asserting: this growth has had no significant impact on the GDP of Iran. Meanwhile, the number of our engineers is almost equal to America.

Sattari considered the establishment of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem as the solution for this problem, adding: the higher education structure of the country must be fundamentally changed, so that the young human resource is able to enter the path of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The knowledge-based company of CinnaGen is the first Iranian pharmaceutical company with the ability to obtain EUGMP license. Receiving this confirmation from this association means that high-quality Iranian medications can enter the European market for the first time.

During this ceremony, the medication of “Neofor 24” was unveiled in the presence of Jahangiri, the first vice president, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Shari’atmadari, minister of mine, industry and trade, Seyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, minister of health, treatment and medical education, and Haleh Hamedifar, CEO of the knowledge-based company of CinnaGen.
