According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs stated during the ceremony for signing an agreement between the Vice-Presidency and the social security organization: Iran has a proper ranking in many global innovation index, including creative human resources and training of human resources. However, we need to improve in all innovation index for development and progress.
Sattari pointed out the 10-step improvement of ranking of Iran in global innovation index, expressing: we have the ability to improve the ranking of Iran regarding the global innovation index. In this regard, the most important issue is creating an appropriate business environment for creative human resources trained inside the country.
Sattari added: we need to make a proper business environment for this capacity of graduated and creative human resources to make an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, which leads to economic transformation in the country. In this regard, one of the serious bases is insurance support provided by social security organization.
Pointing out the necessity of creating a proper situation for creativity and innovation, Sattari affirmed: currently, the capacity has been created in the global innovation index, which can be applied in all index to improve the ranking of Iran. However, this requires the formation of the proper business environment.
Attempt to Improve the Knowledge-based and Startup Business Environment
President of the national elites foundation mentioned that this cooperation agreement is signed between the Vice-Presidency and the social security organization in order to enhance the business environment for knowledge-based companies and startups in the area of information and communications technology and presenting better insurance services to businesses. In this regard, he continued: we have proper interactions with the social security organization, and this agreement has been establishment in line with the same interactions and for the development of businesses based on information and communications technology and insurance supports for knowledge-based companies and startups.
Six Supportive Bases for Knowledge-based Companies
Sattari mentioned six supportive bases for knowledge-based companies based on the support law of these companies, marking: the first form of these supports is providing tax exemptions and facilitating access to knowledge-based and startup business for tax services.
He added: presence of especial organizations that can provide services for knowledge-based companies is one of the necessities that has fortunately been created. The second paragraph of this supportive base, meaning the custom supports, is realized in interactions with customs organization. The third paragraph is related to the provision of the physical business space for companies in a constructive interactions with the municipality of Tehran.
According to Sattari, trusting knowledge-based and startup activists is the key and necessary element for the formation of the knowledge-based business environment. In this respect, he stated: fortunately, the fourth basis for support of knowledge-based and startup companies has been realized in the social security organization. In addition, the fifth paragraph is being implemented in interactions with the ministry of labor.
Sattari continued: in line with the proper cooperation and interactions we have had with the military service organization, the foundation is laid for establishing the sixth paragraph of this supportive basis in line with the exemption of military service for activists of knowledge-based and startups. These transformations that are being implemented will soon be announced.
“Capital”; a Unique Capacity for Innovation and Technology
According to Sattari, presence of our capital (Tehran) among the top 50 cities of the world in terms of technology and innovation is indicative of the high capacity of this city for being turned into an innovative capital. In this regard, he affirmed: Tehran has very unique capacities to be among the top 10 cities of the world, where the best seeds of innovation can be planted in the path of technology and innovation.
Sattari regarded providing the area for knowledge-based and startup businesses a great policy for successful provision of services to people.
The vice president for science and technology affairs marked: despite the various barriers and difficulties in pricings, the social organization has taken steps in this area, and the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs is fully prepared to provide a part of businesses for new businesses that require immediate support.
He continued: we need to appreciate the works of Dr. Nourbakhsh, head of the social security organization, who have made serious transformations in providing social support services.
Signing of Two Cooperation Agreements
In this ceremony, a cooperation agreement was signed for development of businesses based on information and communications technologies in the presence of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Seyed Taghi Nourbakhsh, head of the social security organization, Parviz Karami, advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of information and communications technology development headquarter.
This cooperation agreement is signed in line with the development of business space of knowledge-based companies and startups and insurance support of activists of the field to provide insurance exemptions for knowledge-based and startup activists.
