The sixth meeting of the x-ray specialized workgroup of the strategic technologies laboratory network was held in the Razi Metallurgical Research Center in the presence of 40 experts of this field.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the meeting of the x-ray specialized workgroup was help by the strategic technologies laboratory network and with the aim of exchanging the latest achievements in line with scientific empowering of experts of this area.

In the beginning of the meeting, Zohre Fatah, expert of the strategic technologies laboratory network, introduced the activities of the network, stating: the main goal of this workgroup is scientific and personal improvement of experts through training of cooperation and exchange of experiences.

According to Fatah, one of the important objectives of the laboratory network is standardization of activities of member laboratories. In this meeting, she asked all of the experts to implement and design national applicable standards for their devices and take the periodic calibration check of devices seriously.

During the meeting, Hamid Reza Khalili, manager of the department of mining of the center, introduced various laboratory and non-laboratory sections of Razi center.

According to Khalili, the major activities of the center are designed in areas of metals, industrial parts, polymers, ceramics, nanomaterials, environment, information technology, design and simulation, technical counseling and performing industrial projects. In addition, he announced that all tests of this center are designed based on national and international standards.

Fariba Ali, secretary of the workgroup and technical manager of the central laboratory of Amir Kabir Kabir University of Technology, talked about the activities performed by the headquarter, affirming: preparing articles, standard translation and various educational courses, educational needs assessment, provision of applicable preliminaries in terms of x-ray analysis devices and translation of basic standards are among the measures taken by the workgroup.

According to Ali, one of the future plans of the workgroup is providing the databank of diffraction patterns.
