“Bio-printing” is the title of an event, holding of which will lead to the creation of an experience among active researchers of the field in terms of producing products in development of bio-tissues.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the convergent technology strategic center will hold the “bio-printing” event to create the experience of product manufacturing in development of bio-tissues. Experts and researchers active in the field of bio-tissue development and engineering are the participants of this event, who will send their projects to attend the event. The operational stage of the event was initiated in the presence of six teams from universities of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical sciences, Iran University of Medical Sciences, and Pasteur Institute, and competition between the teams is being carried out by creating an environmental and laboratory condition.

The confirmed projects of each team will enter the operational stage of printing after being approved. In addition, the printed samples will be delivered to the teams for biological and mechanical tests, and the results of the studies will be presented in June 2019.

Convergent technologies are recognized as one of the priorities of the Vice-Presidency. In this regard, the promotional and educational program of convergent technologies has been initiated on the website of convergent technologies with the address of nbic.isti.it since the beginning of 2015. In addition, promotion of the role of different areas of technology to achieve emerging products with high socio-economic impacts is one of the actions that the convergent technology strategic center is working on.
