According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, regarded graduated human resource as the most important asset of the country in development of genome area on the inauguration ceremony of genome sequencing center of Iran, stating: the most important asset for fast-paced moving toward the development of biotechnology and some of the important areas, including genome, is creative and efficient human resource, that can reduce production costs to a great extent.
President of the national elites foundation pointed out the capacity of non-resident Iranian workforce, expressing: many of Iranian elites are actively effective in popular international companies or valid universities of the world in the area of genetics and their number is not low. In addition, they can create the infrastructure for development in this field. This powerful human resource is the most important superiority of the country, compared to other countries, in which despite large costs, no particular success has been achieved in development of knowledge boarders.
Fundamental Change by Entering of Knowledge-based Companies and Startups
Sattari mentioned the companies that can produce a considerable added value using the large capacity of this area, adding: while wealthy and successful companies did not exist until some years ago, they are today one of the most powerful and recognized companies of the world, and have been surprisingly able to improve the quality and standards of the area of medicine.
The vice president for science and technology affairs also marked that individual medicine field is one of the solutions for the bright future of the field of medicine, affirming: creation of infrastructures and support of individual medicine field is one of the serious follow-ups of the Vice-Presidency. In this regard, macro technological projects, and biotechnology and stem cells development headquarters are significantly supported by the Vice-Presidency to expand innovation and boarder-knowledge research projects.
The vice presidency for science and technology affairs also pointed out the concluding of contracts with universities and research centers in the area of individual medicine field, asserting some contracts have been concluded with universities and research centers, such as Royan Research Center.
Development of Knowledge Boarders by Approaching of Sciences and Technologies to Each Other
Expressing that boarders between sciences have been eliminated to create and develop advanced technologies, such as medicine and genetics, Sattari continued: integration of sciences and development of knowledge boarders have brought various areas of technology sciences (e.g., genetics, medicine, stem cells and tissue engineering) to each other more than ever, and there is no distance between academics and technologists of various areas and also no limitations for their role in creating creative new innovations.
President of the knowledge-based economy, technologies and science development headquarter recalled the importance of serious attention to new technology areas, specially medicine and genetics, conveying: the future of medicine is in the hands of genetics and development of new technologies. Lack of prioritization of this fields leads to being blamed by the next generation in the future. Therefore, the necessary infrastructures must be created for activities of the youth in this area from the early academic grades.
Sattari pointed out the capacity of this area for production of occupation, markets and added values, adding: technical knowledge and equipment are rapidly growing in the areas of new medicine and biotechnology, which has led to the necessity of entering of new technologies and ideas into the field in line with prominent countries of this area.
