According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sirous Vatankhah Moghadam, secretary of energy technology development headquarter, stated on the opening ceremony of the second international conference and exhibition of renewable energies: over the past year, we have had acceptable growth in development of capacity of the country. However, we are far from what has been decided in the higher-level document of the country.

He continued: use of fossil fuels has some limitations. Therefore, we need to move toward the development of renewable energies. Today, we are faced with various environmental challenges, which are mainly due to the use of fossil fuels. However, there are good and frequent laws, such as the law for modification of consumption pattern, in the area of renewable energy development.  

Secretary of energy technology development headquarter expressed that we have paid attention to renewable electricity energy so far and we have neglected the renewable heat energy, marking: a significant importance of this area is development of knowledge-based renewable energies. There needs to be an industry and market for knowledge-based renewable energies in the country. Moreover, extremism in terms of renewable resources is not desirable. The energy basket of the country must be balanced.

In another part of his speech, Vatankhah mentioned the formation of knowledge-based companies, asserting: knowledge-based companies have been formed in the area of renewable energies, which are active in the field of production and design. After this event, we will witness developments in these areas.

The international conference and exhibition of renewable energies is held when 60 specialists of this area from 16 countries have attended this event. Moreover, there are 300 foreign guests, and there are booths in the presence of domestic and international companies and educational workshops. This conference is being held at the conference hall of IRIB until December 1^st 2017 with the support of energy technology development headquarter.
