According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Hossein Maghami, manager of the workgroup of “brain implant” of the cognitive sciences development headquarter, stated that this educational workshops will be held in Mashhad during May, expressing: one of the goals of the headquarter is encouraging researchers to be active in brain implant research field. To realize this goal, the scientific committee of this field was established in 2014, encompassing experienced experts and professors of this area.

He continued: after the holding of several meetings with experts and professors in three call stages for research projects related to brain implants, 10 titles were introduced to complete a brain implant to researchers who are interested in this field.

Occupation Creation in the Area of Brain Implant

According to Maghami, after accurate specialized evaluation of this field by prominent activists of this area, 10 projects were approved for support and researchers from various universities of the country, including Sharif University of Industry, Amir Kabir, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Iran Science and Industry, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, and Teacher Training and Industrial Sahand University of Tabriz. In addition, more than 50 experts were directly active in these projects, 17 of whom are among faculty members of different universities of the country.

Iran Is among the Top 25 Countries in the Area of Brain Implant

The manager of the brain implant workgroup of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter pointed out: Iran has obtained 0.6% of the scientific production of this field. According to the current reports, Iran is among the first 25 countries active in the area of brain implants in the past decade. It is expected to see an acceptable growth in this field during the next year with regard to the support of the field by cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter.

“Familiarization with details of designing a brain implant system” is the title of the educational workshop, which will be held by the headquarter in Mashhad along with the electricity engineering conference of Iran.
