In line with signing of a joint cooperation agreement between Iran and Syria, Iran announced its preparedness for joint investment and transfer of technology in area of production of advanced drugs and biology products to Syria.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Habib Abvad, deputy minister of health of Syria, had a meeting with Ali Morteza Birang, deputy for international affairs and technological exchange.

During this meeting, Birang presented a report on the activities of the Vice-Presidency in the area of science and technology development, stating: one of the priorities of the Vice-Presidency over the past years has been the support and development of knowledge-based companies.

Birang continued: “development of accelerators” and “support of export of knowledge-based companies” are other measures taken by the Vice-Presidency.

According to Birang, the joint cooperation agreement with Syria was signed years before the crisis in this country, and Iran demands the following up of the articles of the agreement.

He also expressed: Iran and its knowledge-based companies are prepared for joint investment and transfer of technology in the area of production of advanced drugs and biology products in Syria.

Following that, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, introduced the most important achievements of this field, including biotechnology in agriculture, and announced the preparedness of the headquarter for cooperation and export of biotechnology agricultural products, such as fertilizers, to Syria.

According to this report, the deputy minister of health of Syria appreciated the all-around supports of Iran, demanding the development of scientific and technological cooperation of the two countries. In addition, two knowledge-based companies in the pharmacy area presented their abilities to cooperate with the Syrian parties.
