According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mahmoud Mehrdad Shokrieh, secretary of advanced materials and manufacturing technologies development headquarter, stated about the programs of the headquarter for expanding and developing active knowledge-based companies in the field of advanced materials, expressing: generally, the policies and programs on the support and empowering of knowledge-based companies are current in the country, and the companies of advanced materials section are no exception. Meanwhile, the tax exemptions and low-interest facilities must be pointed out. However, separate legal and institutionalized mechanisms have been designed and are being implemented, which might have some weaknesses as well.

He continued: here, the role of the headquarter is mostly facilitating the relationships between the companies of this section and responsible units, where the opinions of the headquarter are mainly from counseling and intermediating aspect. These are general policies regardless of area of activity. However, the headquarter must follow up the development of specialized policies in its own field proportional to the features and demands of the advanced materials section.

According to Shokrieh, 14 strategies have been proposed based on the opinion of experts to develop advanced materials technologies. In this regard, a wide range of issues has been considered, including the integration of statistics and aggregation of requests, discussion of the organization of vital supplies in the country, standardization, and knowledge-based companies. However, these are general headlines and operational programs must be defined and executive for each region after the approval and supply of the implementation initiatives.

Without a doubt, there are various units in the country that can properly implement these programs with coordination and in the form of integrated and cohesive programs.

The fact that the needs of various sections are collected and explicitly provided for companies significantly helps the strategic decision making of companies. It might prevent the spending of all resources and abilities of a company on development of a technology that essentially has no proper vision. In addition, accumulation of demands can lead to economical investment in this field.
