Dr. Eshaq Jahangiri regarded the production of science and technology as one of the major strategies of the country on the 23^rd Razi research festival on medical sciences, stating: scholars have come to the platform by performing this strategy in the past years, which has led to increased production rate of science and technology.

The first vice president affirmed that all developmental policies of the country are successful when they rely on the development of science and technology. He continued: management of the country through selling natural resources is extremely difficult and will be impossible in the near future. We need to move on to other methods, one of the most important of which is relying on the knowledge of scholars and human resource of the country.

He emphasized that development of knowledge-based companies must be prioritized and added: today, knowledge-based companies are stablished with minimum spiritual assets and are managed by some young talented individuals. Fortunately, they can develop quickly, in a way that there are more than 3000 knowledge-based companies in the country and the revenues of these companies was more than 400 billion IRR in the past year. Therefore, the foundation must be laid for increasing these companies since they can lead to the production of occupation for the youth.

In another part of his lecture, he pointed out the importance of medicine, adding: the field of medicine has a deep connection to the life and general health of people. Given the significantly high potential of the country in this area, it could be regarded as a central issue in research.

Jahangiri appreciated the work of the organizers of the festival, mentioning fortunately, this festival has obtained proper authority and validity in the past years and is regularly held every year.

The first vice president also pointed out: fortunately, the field of medicine of Iran has reached a point that is appreciated by any Iranian or authority. Some time ago, one of the concerns of the country was sending patients with renal diseases and other patients to abroad for treatment. Today, our medical ability has improved significantly since most of the patients in regional countries prefer to be treated in Iran.
