According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, stated on a meeting of the executive and coordination commission of the headquarter: over the past week, the draft of the national document for development of biotechnology was evaluated in the strategic steering council of the scientific comprehensive map, which will lead to positive results.

According to Ghanei, the issue of biotechnology must enter various executive organizations, which must provided all of the facilities required for development of this area.

He also asserted: there are several issues in the biotechnology development headquarter and we have had serious follow-ups for realization of these issues. Fortunately, some of them have had positive results, such as entering the agriculture area.

Ghanei continued: in this area, we have had some negotiations with relevant ministers and have obtained acceptable outcomes.

Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter announced the support of production of five new pharmaceutical molecules in the country, affirming: we hope that the current challenges of the industry are eliminated as soon as possible to witness positive phenomenon in this area and growth of biotechnology medication industry.

Quantitative Growth of Biotechnological Medications in Iran

Abdolmajid Cheraghali, executive and policy-making advisor of food and drug organization, presented a report on the national policy for production of biological medications, expressing: the quantitative production of biological medications in Iran has been acceptable.

He provided a report on the properties of the medication system of the country in the passing of time, adding: high-tech medications have had significant improvements in 2011. In fact, the biotechnology industry flourished in the 20s.

Executive and policy-making advisor of food and drug organization also asserted: the value of the medication market of Iran has grown in the past 15 years, and its value was estimated at 160 thousand billion IRR in 2016, expected to reach 200 thousand billion dollars until the end of this year.
