Dehghani: Medicinal plants are a very important issue in the country
The first headquarters council for the development of science and technology of medicinal plants and traditional medicine was held with the presence of Dr. Ruhollah Dehghani, the chairman and a group of officials of the headquarters council.
Referring to the special importance of medicinal plants and traditional medicine, Ruhollah Dehghani, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, said: The issue has been specifically pursued by the Supreme Leader for many years and as a cultural, therapeutic and economic issue including different dimensions.
He added: "We are serious about compensating for the existing backlogs regarding the implementation of the law in the three-year period we have, and we use all the tools and material and spiritual capabilities for serious follow-up in this area."
Pointing to the long-term goals of the medicinal plant industry, which requires long-term planning, the chairman of headquarters continued by presenting a proposal: the production of medicinal plants and their economic value should become a framework with a specific operational dimension and each of the tasks by the device follow up accordingly. Therefore, the next meetings should be held quickly in the next three months, so that the desired programs are approved and followed as programs approved by the National Council.
Referring to a series of inter-agency macro programs, the head of the National Elites Foundation said: several important measures, including the establishment of a medicinal plant refinery, should be submitted for implementation by the Vice Presidency of Science in cooperation with executive agencies.
Also, in this meeting, Seyf Sahandi, Secretary of the Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine Headquarters, introduced the activities of the headquarters, and the members of the Council also gave their opinions and suggestions to the Vice President of Science the improvement and development of the field of medicinal plants and traditional medicine.
