The secretary of biotechnology development headquarter stated: one of the priorities that is followed-up in the working group of bio computing is realizing the formation of an information and interaction network between the biotechnology centers of the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, expressed about the necessity of forming the bio computing working group in the headquarter: given the importance of bio computing in areas of medicine, genetics, agriculture, and environment, this working group was established in the biotechnology development headquarter.

He continued: the working group was established with the goal of “creating an information and interaction network between biotechnology centers of the country”, “creating the bio-informatics electronic network of the country”, “developing the genetic semantic database of the country in the form of knowledge-based companies”, and “creating the domestic gene ontology database and the conceptual genomic database.

According to Ghanei, cooperation and interaction with foreign bio-computing and biotechnology associations and domestic and foreign research centers in the relevant field with the goal of using the experiences of domestic and foreign researchers and performing international joint projects are among the other goals of the working group.
