Five memorandums of understanding were signed on the basis of fifth generation (5G) communication technology. The first memorandum of understanding was signed between the Space Technology and Intelligent Transportation Development Headquarters in the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology, Irancell Communication Services Company, the Communication and Information Technology Research Institute and the Kish Free Zone Organization to establish a smart urban transportation pilot based on new generation telecommunication networks.

In this memorandum: all four groups should use all their capacities to achieve the goal. This work leads to the development of new intelligent transportation technologies and its successful implementation will lead to the expansion of this project in other cities of the country as a service based on the national information network.

In this Memorandum of Understanding, the Office of Space Technology and Intelligent Transportation Development in the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology undertakes the full cooperation in the design of the pilot and its implementation scenarios; and to make efforts to provide the technologies required by the pilot, especially in the field of related transport fleet.

Also, cooperation in identifying, evaluating and selecting technology companies and teams to participate in the pilot implementation, cooperation in establishing inter-organizational coordination and other pilot stakeholders and exchange of knowledge and experienced knowledge with other parties to define and implement the pilot are other duties for the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology.

The memorandum was signed by Manouchehr Manteghi, Secretary of Space Technologies and Intelligent Transportation Development in the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology, Bijan Abbasi Arand, CEO of Irancell Communication Services Company, Vahid Yazdanian, Director of the Communication and Information Technology of Research Institute, and Gholamhossein Mozaffari, CEO of Kish Free Zone Organization.

During this ceremony, four more memorandums of understanding were signed. "Implementation of Remote Surgical Consulting", "Development of Digital Health Services and Intelligent Medicine Infrastructure Using the Fifth Generation Internet", "Development of the Ecology of Fifth Generation Telecommunication Technologies, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence" and "Development of Technologies, Products and Network Solutions" The fifth generation and future generations of telecommunications ".
