By Scientific and Research Cooperation between Iran and Germany in the Cognitive Field
Seyed Kamal Kharazi, secretary of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter, visited the school of mind and brain of Berlin.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Kharazi mentioned the goals and strategic and supportive policies of the headquarter in promotion of cognitive sciences in scientific and academic centers of Iran during this visit, emphasizing the necessity of developing international cooperation in cognitive sciences fields and transfer of experiences and scientific findings among the researchers of the two countries, as well as holding joint educational courses and sending research groups to the two countries.
In addition, Michael Pauen, head of the school of mind and brain of Berlin, demanded the development of joint research collaborations between the two countries, specifically in the area of cognitive sciences. President of school of mind and brain explained about the activities and measures taken by the school in the area of cognitive sciences among a number of managers of the school and the cognitive sciences headquarter. He also talked about the admission method for MSc and PhD students.
In talking with the senior managers of the cognitive sciences headquarter of Iran, he emphasized the necessity of joint collaborations in research areas, as well as exchange of students and professors and holding educational courses and cooperation between cognitive sciences specialized centers of the two countries.
He also affirmed: development of joint cooperation between the school of mind and brain and universities of Iran will contribute to the improvement of scientific bases between research centers and institutes of the two countries in the area of cognitive sciences.
In this visit, Majid Nili, head of the group of research, technology and infrastructure of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter, pointed out the desired research areas of the headquarter, including the management of society behavior using cognitive knowledge, social recognition, cognitive psychology, cognitive education and intracultural studies, explaining about how students are recruited and managed and can receive academic degrees.
Following that, Mohammad Taghi Joghataei, senior advisor of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter in the area of education, introduced the current potentials of the country, including the clinic of cognition and brain and national brain-mapping laboratory, necessity of guiding medical students toward cognitive studies and areas such as cognitive rehabilitation.
The school of mind and brain in Berlin is monitored by Humboldt University of Berlin and in collaboration with professors of active institutes in the area of cognitive sciences of Germany, including the schools of psychology, philosophy, section of cognitive-behavioral sciences, institute of “Max Planck" and "Department of Neurology" in Shrihate Medical University. This school recruits MSc and PhD students to study brain and mind.
It is notable that the secretary of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter traveled to Berlin along with a delegation of managers of the headquarter to attend the international neuroscience congress of the United Nations.
This congress is held to present research studies and exchange experiences and scientific findings with research companies and elites of various countries of the world and those involved in the area of clinical and basic neurosciences.
