The book of “Struggles in Development of Ecosystem of Knowledge-based Economy” was published on the occasion of the week of government to review the approaches and actions of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, this headquarter published a book with the title of “Struggles in Development of Ecosystem of Knowledge-based Economy” on the occasion of the week of government with the cooperation of knowledge-based science, technology and economy development headquarter. In this book, a review of approaches and actions of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in the area of knowledge-based economy and innovation and technology ecosystem is provided.
This book is comprised of three sections, including culture development and policy-making, development of knowledge-based economy, development of strategic technologies and a special case in line with institutionalization and culture building for knowledge-based economy. In the first section, the areas of planning and coordination, strategic evaluation and monitoring, culture building and promotion of dialogue on knowledge-based science, technology and economy are covered. The second section contains information about knowledge-based companies and institutes’ affairs, innovation and technology commercialization, laboratory equipment and materials exhibition of “made in Iran”, technology commercialization prize, and science-to-practice national exhibition and festival.
In addition, other subjects of this section include national technology macro plans, financial support and investment, intellectual property market, venture capitals, international area and technology exchange, technology exchange, international business development, Pardis technology park and national science foundation of the country. On the other hand, the third section of the book contains information about coordination between scientific, research and technology centers, technology of provinces and 15 technology development headquarters of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.
Headquarters of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs include: nano technology, biotechnology, medicinal herbs and traditional medicine, aerial knowledge-based technology and industry, stem cells, water, drought and environment, information, communication and microelectronics, cognitive sciences, oil, gas and charcoal, energy and environment optimization, marine knowledge-based science and technology, soft and identity-making technologies, advanced manufacturing and materials technologies development, laser, photonics and micron structures, and knowledge-based science, technology and economy development.
The special case of this book is entitled as “institutionalization in knowledge-based economy foundation” and includes Iran national space administration, convergent technology strategic center, Iranian academic excellence federation, laboratory network of strategic technologies, technology cores, accelerators and innovation centers, and knowledge, industry, and markets coordination centers.
In the preface of the book, a note is presented from Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs of Iran, writing: in this book, it was aimed to analytically review the processes and approaches used by this Vice-Presidency from the beginning of its establishment in the government of prudence and hope in the area of science and technology policy making and guiding. In addition, the latest images and events in this area are provided and a historical review of domestic measures and policies in the field of science and technology is presented. Therefore, by publishing this report, we attempted to provide a summary of activities of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in the past three years in a new framework, so that the modern science, technology and innovation management and policy-making approaches are explained to create a mutual understanding.
In the book, it is explained: the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs has attempted to provide a more balanced and comprehensive perspective toward various sections that affect knowledge-based economy development, and its movement toward creation of knowledge-based economy, commercialization of technologies and its promotion to solve national problems, market creation and use of the capacities of executive offices of the country to develop the production of knowledge-based products. Week of government is held August 24th-31st, 2017 with the slogan of “hope and prudence for production and occupation”.
