Babak Negahdari, the director of medical biotechnology department, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, pointed out the production of a corona vaccine prototype in the country during the ceremony for introducing this recombinant vaccine, stating: the first case of measles virus-based corona vaccine was produced in the country. This vaccine is known as the advanced and third generation of vaccine manufacturing and technology at the frontier of knowledge.

He continued: the vaccine has been engineered by Hom Imen Zist Fanavar Knowledge-based Co. and Tehran University of Medical Sciences with the support of the Vice-Presidency and the Executive Headquarters of Imam's Directive.

He also marked: the animal phase of the vaccine will be initiated in October, which will be carried out both inside and outside the country to compete with foreign products in case of mass production.
