The secretary of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter announced the publication of book of 40 years of science, technology and innovation of Iran concomitant with the anniversary of the 40^th year of victory of Islamic revolution.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Parviz Karami, the secretary of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter, added: this book is published with a review of four decades of development of science, technology, and innovation in Iran. This is mainly because science and technology enhancement has been an ever-lasting priority of the country and has been emphasized by the Supreme Leader of Iran repeatedly, who has expressed the importance of lack of halting the acceleration of scientific movement of the country.

Moving toward Economy is Based on Knowledge

Karami continued: these emphases highlight the efforts of experts in the years after the victory of the glorious Islamic Revolution. In recent years, we have witnessed this path and moved towards a knowledge-based, domestic and export-oriented economy.

After explaining the path of scientific move of the country in these years, Karami asserted: the first steps toward scientific independence were taken in the 90s, which were targeted in the 2000s and were pursued with the goal of expanding science and technology in the country. After 10 years, the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship was improved by implementing laws such as supporting the knowledge-based companies. In this period, the growth of emerging companies and the commercialization process of technological achievements were developed by the formation of infrastructures such as innovation centers and accelerators.

Technology and Innovation Achievements in the Past Four Decades Are Exhibited

Advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs affirmed: therefore, this book tries to give a brief overview of the most important efforts and achievements of Iran in the field of science, technology and innovation over the past four decades in three separate sections. Accordingly, in the first chapter, the process of development of infrastructure and technology resources and innovation in the years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution are demonstrated. 

Mentioning the presenting of science and technology achievements in the second section of the book, Karami pointed out: this chapter is dedicated to the achievements of the Islamic revolution in scientific publications, technology development and knowledge-based economy. Finally, in the third part of the book, the future path of Iran in the field of science and technology is portrayed, which predicts the future based on current achievements.
