The workgroup of basic sciences of Iran national science foundation has recently approved the implementation of 21 research projects in this area.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the workgroup of basic sciences of Iran national science foundation approved the support of implementation of 21 research projects in its last meeting. From 24 evaluated projects, 21 were approved, which are in areas of biochemistry, geology, mathematics, statistics, physics and biology.

In addition, this workgroup assigned a judging panel for nine out of 12 projects to be approved. Basic sciences is one of the important areas, and many universities of advanced countries significantly invest in this area every year. Application of basic sciences will provide the foundations for developments in industry, science and technology. Today, most of these countries are leaders of those countries that produce science. Moreover, the workgroup of basic sciences of Iran national science foundation has aimed to evaluate research projects of researchers by determining the prioritized areas according to high-level documents and needs of the country.
