Advisor to the vice president for science and technology stated: we have aimed to hold 15 marathons of production of cultural digital content in other provinces by the end of the year.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Parviz Karami, advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs, expressed about the marathon of production of cultural digital content in Kurdestan: in this event, the main emphasis is on cultural industries since in contrast to the past, when industries such as oil, gas and petrochemistry were important in economic development, the cultural industries have a considerable status today. In this regard, those countries that invest in this area can have a successful life. In fact, cultural industries are those that cover the areas of idea creation, production and distribution of products and services, which has a cultural nature and its audience is cultural aspects of individuals and the society.

He explained: in this event, idea owners in the area of digital services of music, film, animation and computer games, tourism and handicrafts, health and lifestyle, religious principles, literature and Kurdi literature, general culture building and citizenship rights can participate and compete in a scientific and operational competition through producing digital contents by the guidance of experts of this field.

Head of knowledge-based economy, technology and science regarded the recognition and attraction of new entrepreneurs with potential in academic centers as one of the goals of this event, affirming: development of an interaction and co-operation space between professors and students, creativity and idea making with an approach toward the market, support and guidance of ideas toward their commercialization and provision of necessary facilities for continuing the activities, providing a communication bed between industrial and academic centers, creating the foundation for development of market-oriented technologies in the university with the aim of fast moving toward third-generation university, education of basics of sophisticated content production and support of content producers are some of the goals followed up in this event.

According to Karami, ideas and projects provided by participants will be evaluated by referees and selected works will be announced at the end of the marathon. In this regard, he added: the selected teams will be approved for commercialization of their products and providing educational and counseling services in accelerators, which have been established by the “digital content production ecosystem” supported by Kurdistan provincial information technology office and Payame-Noor University.

Advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs also pointed out: we have aimed to hold 15 content production marathons in other provinces by the end of the year.

The marathon of cultural digital content production of Kurdestan will be held in November 2017 by the support of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter.
