Sattari: Market-Making in Oil Field Sets Priority in Scientific Departments Policies

"Market-making in the oil industry is among the main priorities of the scientific and technological department of presidential office," Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Dr. Sorena Sattari said, addressing oil industry activists.

According to a report by the public relations and information center of the scientific and technological department of presidential office, Dr. Sattari addressed the second meeting of the workgroup for implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for commercialization of research achievements inked between the scientific department and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), and said this years priority is supporting market-making for companies.

"Highly good exemptions and facilities have been predicted which will be effective in materialization of market-making of oil companies," he added.

The deputy head of the board of trustees of the Innovation and Flourishing Fund referred to the Funds high potentials for supporting the knowledge-based companies to develop market-making in oil industry, and said, "Given the parliament and governments supports in allocating proper budget, the Fund can help market-making in oil industry by providing valuable and proper facilities."

Noting that the companies biggest problem is creation of market for them, he described the oil area as a highly good capacity for market-making by companies, and said, "Formation of knowledge-based market in the oil field is among the priorities of the scientific department and steps like this agreement are in line with facilitation of market for companies in the oil area."

The Iranian vice-president for science and technology underlined that creation of market is a new way for commercialization of researches, and said it will lead to the creation of wealth from knowledge.

The head of the board of trustees of the Fund to support the researchers and technologists affiliated to the scientific department referred to the necessity for promotion of the culture of wealth-making through research, and said, "We should know that no revenues will be yielded with the grant money and we can make wealth merely through this method, meaning making market and creation of demand in the market."

He also expressed the hope that the oil industrys knowledge-based economy would witness positive events.

The second meeting of the workgroup to implement the MoU to commercialize the research achievements between the scientific department and the NIOC was held in 11 fields in the presence of Dr. Sattari and the NIOC CEO Dr. Rokneddin Javadi as well as a number of activists in the area of oil industrys knowledge-based companies to approve the trade plans of these companies in line with the priorities and meeting the needs of the NIOC. In this meeting, the owners of the approved plans presented and explained about their plans.

The MoU between the scientific department and the NIOC was inked in April with the aim of increasing the oil recovery factor.
