Cooperation of experts of the country for designing a “Brain Implant” system

 

The manager of the “Brain Implant” workgroup of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter stated: the condition for designing some examples of brain implant systems in the country has been provided by finishing the approved objects of the headquarter and based on the desired approach.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Hossein Maghami, manager of the “Brain Implant” workgroup of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter, expressed: since February 2014, the scientific committee encompassing experts and experiences professors in the area of brain implants, has been created and is now active in this field. currently, about 15 projects were directly monitored by our workgroup, 10 of which were defined as a multistage project.

According to Maghami, these research plans are being implemented by researchers from various universities of the country, including Sharif University of Industry, Amir Kabir, Khaje Nasir Tousi, Iran Industry and Science, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Tarbiat Modares and Isfahan Sahand University of Industry. In this respect, more than 50 experts (including 17 faculty members) are directly involved in these projects.

Maghami also asserted: after the finishing of the projects and with regard to its approach, the condition is provided for designing some examples of brain implant systems in the country, which is carried out for the first time in the form of an integrated research and by experts from various scientific fields.

The workgroup of brain implant expressed his hope about the supports provided by the headquarter, which will lead to acceptable growth of this field in the near future.
