The opening ceremony for the formation of elites core (project of Shahid Ahmadi Roshan) was held in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, based on the order of the Supreme Leader of Iran for creation of mission-based elites and research cores in universities, national elites foundation was able to design and implement the “Shahid Ahmadi Roshan project”.
In this regard, a meeting was held at Sharif University of Industry in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology and president of national elites foundation.
During this ceremony, Sattari recognized the “Shahid Ahmadi Roshan project” as one of the major actions of national elites foundations, conducted in line with guiding the elites society of the country.
Pointing out the necessity of modifying the countrys economy, Sattari continued: to reach a dynamic development in industry, we need to replace resource-based thinking with knowledge-based perspective.
Moreover, president of national elites foundation asserted: there needs to be financial supports from the government in some scientific fields, such as knowledge border and basic research. On the other hand, use of governmental financial support in applied research could lead to damages.
Sattari stated: there are some startups in Iran today with a value more than 500$ million USD. Some of the other startups are moving forward with a yearly thousand percent growth. This is indicative of the fact that any person with the required talent could be one of the top entrepreneurs who can earn billions of added value in the shortest amount of time. On the other hand, the domestic market of the country has the potential for idea and innovation, a place for activists in the field of entrepreneurship and knowledge-based science.
The vice president for science and technology affairs conveyed: training for self-employment and entrepreneurship is one of the cultural indicators of Iranians. The importance of internship and apprenticeship is confirmed by studying the culture of Iran.
The president of national elites foundation affirmed that venture capital is one of the indicators of knowledge-based companies. Mentioning the significant increase in value of knowledge-based companies, Sattari expressed: in modern economy, products and services of a company are not value but rather the company itself is evaluated. This is the difference between modern and traditional economy.
At the end of this ceremony, top projects of this event were awarded in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs and president of national elites foundation, Mahmoud Sa’adat, Ghaem Magham, officers and advisors of the foundation and Mahmoud Fotoohi, president of Sharif University of Industry.
