Technologists are invited to solve the challenge of temporary settlements

“Design of modular nanopolymer settlements for temporary housing of citizens” is the title of a competition and event that invites technologists to solve the challenge of temporary settlements and find a solution for one of the problems caused by the current critical situation.

The competition will be held with the support of the nanotechnology development headquarter, and enthusiasts of the field can send their projects to the event until May 19th, 2020. Increasing the ease of transporting temporary settlements from production to installation, setting up and assembling parts of temporary settlements, and reducing the cost of building them are some of the goals pursued in this event.

Technologists and researchers with ideas and plans in the field of production, transportation and installation of temporary segments can participate in this event. Their innovative ideas are made possible by the construction of nanopolymer modules to provide services to the victims more quickly and in less time.

Natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods destroy many homes. As a result, many families lose their place of residence. In these cases, modular residences are used for temporary accommodation. In this model, various parts are made in the factory and are installed after being transferred to the scene.

This type of accommodation provides access to shelter at high speeds for families experiencing an incident and is very practical.

A maximum of 20 projects will be selected in the assessment and judgement stage. Ultimately, three top projects will be determined and selected for commercialization. For more information, please refer to http://ichallenge.ir.
