Prototypes of six banned medications are produced.

Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter announced the production of prototypes of six banned medications by domestic companies.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter stated about the current situation of Iran regarding the banned medications: since February 2016, import of 41 medical products has required special permission from the Treasury of America. Among these medications, 21 have been produced by biotechnology knowledge-based companies with planning and support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and biotechnology development headquarter.

He added: in addition to meeting the domestic needs of Iran, these medications are also prepared for export. Meanwhile, prototypes of six medical products have been successfully created with the support of knowledge-based companies over the past few years, industrial production of which will be carried out by Iranian companies.

 

According to Ghanei, there are only 14 products that cannot be manufactured in Iran, support of domestic production of which will be provided by the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.
