Entrance and support of stem cells and regenerative medicine must be prioritized

 

Secretary of stem cells technologies development headquarter stated on the second symposium of neurological diseases and stem cells: entering the area of stem cells and regenerative medicine and support of activities of this section must be prioritized.

According to the Public Relations and information Center of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, the second symposium of neurological diseases and stem cells was held by the support of stem cells technologies development headquarter and Tehran University of Medical Sciences in pediatric hospital of Tehran.

Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells technologies development headquarter, the national document for stem cells technologies and sciences approved by the higher council of cultural revolution was presented in this event, and programs and actions performed by the stem cells technologies development headquarter were considered in four major areas of education, research, and development of human resource and cellular service provider centers.

He expressed: providing new clinical services and creating occupation and income have become the main demands of people of this field. Despite the financial problems of the country, we have efficiently performed in this area. However, there is a need for the entrance of the private sector to this section.

The second round of the one-day symposium on neurological diseases and stem cells was held with area of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in nerve repair, challenges of cell therapy in neurological diseases, medical ethics and cell therapy in neurological diseases, future of regenerative medicine in neurological diseases, position of Iran in the area of stem cells and regenerative medicine and neurological diseases, and role of cell therapy in neurotribulecular diseases.
