According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the second round of national cardboard boat race will be held by the engineering group of Persian Gulf University and with the support of marine knowledge-based technology and industries development headquarter with the aim of practicing teamwork, learning about concepts of marine engineering and shipbuilding courses, fostering the creativity and innovation of students, learning combined with fun and using science in practice to create joy between students.
In this competition, inexpensive and waste materials were used and all of the students were able to practically use their theory courses and display their innovation and creativity through teamwork.
Secretary of the student cardboard boats race stated: regardless of attention paid to the marine industries in the country over the past few years, share of Iran in this field of industry is extremely insignificant. Therefore, holding high school and university students in various marine fields will create the foundations for more attention by the authorities to this industry, familiarization of people with marine industries and increased motivation, creativity and innovation of students. Therefore, the engineering group of Persian Gulf University has aimed to hold related competitions to achieve the mentioned goals.
According to this report, the second round of cardboard boat race will be held on shores of Persian Gulf by marine engineering group, scientific association of shipbuilding and cultural affairs management with the support of marine knowledge-based technology and industries development headquarter.
