Innovation of the youth is the foundation for smart cities

Changing the Business Game in the Country

The vice president for science and technology affairs continued: the business game has been changed in the country, and traditional systems have no choice but to join this new ecosystem.

According to the president of the national elites foundation, we need youth empowerment and knowledge to create a smart city. Just as we have transformed the industry with the help of youth, we must also make the city smart by relying on the ability of youth and indigenous peoples.

Sattari also pointed out the first days of establishment of online taxis in the country.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter added: smart city means educating citizens until death. Today, we see people who are illiterate but who work with service software to meet their urban needs. That is, they have been trained to work with these systems.

Automation of Cities Make the Municipality the Owner of the City

Emphasizing the necessity of change of education system of universities, Sattari continued: passive, community-based education that exists in universities is doomed to failure and university education must also be defined on the basis of community needs.

According to Sattari, university education should be based on the technology and innovation ecosystem that is at the heart of innovation areas and factories.

The vice president for the science and technology affairs claimed: in order to own the city, the municipality must move to the smart city and abandon traditional systems.

The Technology and Innovation Ecosystem Has Reached Maturity

Sattari marked: in new businesses whose main players are startups, knowledge-based companies and accelerators, employment is increasing and their scientific potential is being exploited.

Pointing out the facilitation of Tehran automation program by the Vice-Presidency, Sattari expressed: innovation regions, science and technology parks, growth centers and all existing capacities in the Vice-Presidency are provided to the municipality to be used in the implementation of the smart city project.

The week of Smart Tehran has been started since December 3rd 2019 with the help of information technology and communication organization of Tehran Municipality and will continue tomorrow. "Opening innovation centers", "launching innovation in the capital", "unveiling smart Tehran projects", "opening smart living centers" and "running a technology needs exhibition" are some of the programs of the conference.
